Failed to open the group policy object

I am trying to edit the "Default Domain Controllers Policy" yet when I click on Edit, I acquire the error message as presented listed below.

You watching: Failed to open the group policy object

We have 3 doprimary controllers, 2 of them (hq-dc1 and hq-dc2)are 2008 R2 and also one (hq-dc3) is 2012 R2.

*

The perobjectives are correct as I"m trying via doprimary admin account and I checked the pergoals and doprimary admins have the vital pergoals.

The Policy does exist.

*

The replications functions fine also!

any kind of concepts any one???

Thanks for your feedback everyone!

Finally I managed to get this sorted. Here is what I did.

First, on among the doprimary controllers, I browsed dvery own the the plan file that includes the settings on the path below:

C:WindowsSYSVOLsysvolDomainNamePolicies6AC1786C-016F-11D2-945F-00C04fB984F9MACHINEMicrosoftWindows NTSecEdit

and also opened up the fileGptTmpl.inf (as presented on picture below) and also then readjusted the value forAuditAccountManagefrom 0 to 1, conserved the file and closed. I then visited the settings tab on the GPO and the establishing that I adjusted on the file had actually replicated back to the plan in Group Policy Management Console.

Doing this step confirmed that theroute was correctand thatI hadsufficientperobjectives to edit. Although if I tried to modify the plan aacquire through GPMC I still acquired the very same error message.

At the finish I did a backup of this GPO and then did a regain and difficulty resolved.

Hi,

Are you able to modify the Group Policy object from any type of one DC?

This error may be as a result of permission problem in SYSVOL folder in the DC displaying error.

Checkout the below thcheck out on comparable discussion,

Have you looked at the delegatedpergoals of the GPO? Based on what you are saying it sounds prefer a permission worry on the GPO. Use the attach below to look at the settings.

Hello Guys,

FIXED, SOLVED, FIXED....

Or

I must ask carry out any type of one understand why it got addressed making use of the backup regain task ?

If you have the right to see the last screenshot of plan access route by "ndrepebx" there is NO User folder available under the plan route folder.

This is the worry, I executed the Procmon & discovered that procedure is trying to accessibility the Regisattempt.pol file under User folder under the plan route & it is failing to access, also though user configuration are not configured.

I crossed complement the very same via Adsiedit, tright here i found user & machine both containers & so to sync up the GPT & GCOMPUTER i created the "User" folder under the plan route & it acquired FIXED.

Rare FIX however great FIX.
