2.12GB cost-free of 499.25 GB

Really?

You have actually a Major Issue here and also you have to deal with it instantly. I cannot stress this enough.

OS X demands about 10 gigs of hard drive area for normal OS operations - things prefer digital memory, short-term records and so on.

Without this area your Mac will certainly slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, papers will certainly be fragmentized, additionally slowing points down, apps will crash and also the danger of information corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - boosts exponentially.

Your initially priority is to make even more room on that HD. Nothing else can be done till you do.

Acquisition an outside HD and relocate your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhotograph and also iTunes have the right to run perfectly well with the Library on an outside disk.

Hi Terrence,

Foroffer me if I am asking this query concerning inenough disk space in the "wrong place" but I have actually a comparable problem as explained above... yet I am in a vicious cycle! I realise I must "free up space" however my greatest space user is my photos/movies however I am unable to accessibility them to export them to an exterior difficult drive because as soon as I downloaded El Capitan and also tried to open up "Photos" my Mac was unable to import (?) the iPicture library (it was only able to fill to 8% prior to giving me a message that I forced an additional 41GB of disk space). I have actually already moved everything else I deserve to discover to an exterior stick but it is still not sufficient to enable Photos to import the iPhotograph library... my iPhoto application has actually a "delete" symbol through the middle of it so I can"t seem to go back and use that as an accessibility alternative either?

Could you please advise what you think my options could be? If I could access my iPhotograph library in some means (ie I can"t seem to accessibility it with iPicture or Photos) I could move all of my movies to an external difficult drive which might enable for me to relocate forward?
